Home prices edging up in Portland area

Amid a sea of negative headlines, there is a hint of good news in the latest Portland area housing report: a small uptick in the median sale price of homes sold in July.

The Regional Multiple Listing Service said in its monthly market action report that the median home sale price in July was $227,200. Granted, that’s a decline of 7.6 percent from a year ago, but it represents a 1.9 percent improvement from June’s $222,900 figure.

Don’t miss the Portland Summer Farmers Market’s

Portland Farmers Market is a collection of six vibrant farmers’ markets held in unique urban locations throughout the Portland metro area. While each location has its own personality, all six markets provide a direct connection to the agricultural abundance of our region and serve as gathering places in which to grow, nourish and inspire community.

My favorite is the PSU market, it is the biggest I have been to. It has everything from specialty cheese, fresh fruits and vegetable’s, all kinds of meats, eggs, yummy food and much much more.

Say Thanks For FREE

imagesAt this time of year when friends and family gather to celebrate the season, it seems an appropriate time to thank those serving in our military.
Xerox has made it easy and FREE to do so!
If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card & greeting. Xerox will print it and send it to a soldier that is currently stationed overseas. You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.
Again, it is FREE and it only takes a few seconds.
Thanks for taking the time to support and encourage those who serve!
Wishing you a wonderful Holiday!

Blazer Ticket Winner’s Report

Since Christmas, my wife Lara and I had been talking about wanting to get to a Blazers game this year, but with opposite schedules and an 8 month old, it hadn’t worked out.  Then Christy informed me that I was the big winner of tickets to the last game of the season vs. the Nuggets, just for posting a comment on her blog about my busted March Madness bracket! We were giddy!  We found a sitter (thanks Grandma and Grandpa), and headed down to the Rose Garden.
708-1Now, these weren’t JUST tickets to the very sold-out game, they were Lexus Club seats, which means dinner too.  More on that later. Continue Reading »

AM I GOING MAD?

OK, I will be honest with you. Every year I hear and see advertising and hype over March Madness. Now I hear there will be games played at the Rose Garden in March. What is it all the Madness about?

To educate myself, and others out there who haven’t really cared in the past or taken the time to care in the present, here are a few facts:

o NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament National Collegiate Athletic Association

o 65 Teams vying for the league’s biggest prize

o Takes place the First week of March thru First week of April   Continue Reading »

Valentine’s Day Just Around The Corner

Now that the holiday rush is over, the ornaments are packed away, and the gutters cleared of their lights (hopefully), it is time to plan for the next event - Valentine’s Day.

To help you plan for that special someone, here are a few ideas:

Oregon Symphony Valentine’s Day with Dianne Reeves - February 14, 2009 at 7:30 PM
Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall    1037 SW Broadway

Gregory Vajda, conductor     Dianne Reeves, vocals                                                                             Sophisticated, sultry stylings with a superb jazz singer. Perfect for a very special date!
